Portmeirion Wedding Photographer

Portmeirion wedding PHOTOGRAPHER

I was Ffion and Richard’s Portmeirion wedding photographer today and I arrived early. It’s a beautiful winter’s morning and hardly anyone is here but I was early,  good nerves are in operation, the kind of nerves that keep me on my toes.

I know Ffion, we’re the same age and we were at Holyhead secondary school together. We’ve seen each other at a couple of school reunions but today I was to learn a great deal more about Ffion, that’s because she was surrounded by people that love her.

stay in the salutation suite

Oh my, that’s where I’ll be booking. It wasn’t even Richard’s suite it was Ffion’s son’s. How he wangled that I don’t know. The light, the shadows, the balcony. I thought Richard looked like an author who’d finished his latest novel as he secured his cufflinks and looked out over his balcony toward’s Ffion’s suite. If he wasn’t already feeling amazing he was now.

Consider a ‘first look’

It’s an American idea but that’s okay, sometimes a bride and groom will make space for it and it can work well. A first look is when the bride and groom meet eachother before their ceremony to exchange a few words and kisses. I suggested it to Ffion because she wanted to shake things up a little.   Not one person got in the way of Ffion as she made her way towards Richard who was waiting for her by the columns. How romantic. I was positively fizzing.

Exactly what time is sunset?

It didn’t seem to matter, the sun lingered, so we lingered. I took the formals outdoors at 3.30pm on 5th December, would you ever?
